Here’s what we did in our everyday lives this week:

We road tripped to Durham and got to pass through some pretty farmland along the way. This is one of many tobacco fields.

Walk the walk

I hopped into the shower for like 30 seconds... And hopped out to find these two eating scones in bed. Leaving scones within reach of toddlers is totally a novice parenting mistake. Ugh. Never again, never again.

Here and Now: Week 33

Here’s what we did in our everyday lives this week:

I’d say he’s looking forward to eating his raspberry snack. (PS I enjoy being reminded of my friend whenever I look at that Mississippi tea towel.)

Thunderstorm — it was one of the most epic thunderstorms of my life — SO loud and SO much rain!

Buddies

Baking with toddlers definitely falls on the chaos spectrum.

I will always remember last week as the one when Samuel’s “pacis got broke” and how hard it was for him. He didn’t nap hardly at all, was beyond exhausted at bedtime, and cried a lot. It was rough. It took awhile, but he’s back to napping and now uses Farmer Joey as his new comfort object. He also switched from diapers to underwear this week. Big changes for our big kid.

Our friends came to visit! Mackenzie, Addie and Tre helped us explore our town and feel more at home. Having old friends just a few hours away is a wonderful gift!

Here and Now: Week 32

It’s a different perspective to look at the year in weeks. Can’t believe we only have 20 weeks to go before the end of the year. Here’s what we did in week 32...

Best news of the week: We have a new baby in the family! Welcome, Briar Rose!!!! My brother is a dad!

He wasn’t too sure about his bike back in Oregon, but now that he’s older, he’s loving it!

Best part of unpacking and getting settled? Playing with the boxes!

A shady patch on our walking route is a welcome relief from all the sun.

Here’s my duo, ready to roll, after convincing me to make play dough at 6:30AM on a Saturday morning. Nothing is ever too early for these toddlers.

My mom made special aprons for Samuel and Elsie. Upon closer inspection, Samuel was very ecstatic to discover “Watson” (or a dog that has at least a tiny resemblance to Watson) in the print.

This summer I’ve been working on a photo project. This week’s prompt was candy. As you can see, the kids were more than happy to be my models.

Here and Now: Week 31

Driving the backroads

Mama’s little helper

Our U-Box arrived this week! What was one of the first things Samuel wanted to unpack? His barn!
Due to our location, we weren’t able to trailer the delivered Ubox to our house. This meant Brent had to double handle all the contents— first unloading them from our Ubox into a Uhaul truck, and then unloading the Uhaul truck into our house. It was a hot, humid day, but he managed to get it all shifted just as the first raindrops of a big thunderstorm started falling. Samuel chanted, “Good job Daddy! Go Team Adams!” to help boost morale. It was the cutest.

The Ronhaars sent us these pictures. They make me smile. We miss you all!
