From our camping trip in the Empty Quarter, April 2010
According to NEWSWEEK's 100 Places to Remember Before They Disappear, the Empty Quarter is the largest continuous sand sea in the world. Although the book may credit Saudia Arabia as the hosting country, that sand sea doesn't know about political boundaries and spills quite effortlessly into the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Heck, it's basically in my backyard.

Not only close, but quite beautiful as well.

And it makes for great camping!
Add it to the list! Sand sea = another great reason you should come visit!
