In the heart of Salalah you'll find lush coconut, papaya, and banana plantations. Definitely not your typical scene in the Middle East. Before heading towards the desert, Caitlin and I made an impromptu stop at a few fruit stands on our way out of town--I think we both wanted to savor the 'tropics' a little bit longer. Plus, neither of us had ever tried coconut water before. We also splurged on some fresh bananas. Both were delicious.
