So I just tried this. He makes smashing it look a lot easier than it is. My hand is sore :P the shaking the dickens out of it worked pretty good. I had to do it a few times to get all the skin off, but yeah, definitely a time saver :)
yes, he smashes that head of garlic like it's nothing! i ended up breaking it apart because the smashing technique was totally not working for me.
